Learning and growing in nature is fun for the whole family! From the Explore Together Series where adults and children discover the wonders of nature during every month of the year to our seasonal Polliwogs program designed to introduce children ages 2 1/2 – 5 to nature through hands-on fun with a favorite grown-up, Prescott Farm offers a full array of hands-on experiential programs for all ages. Join us and reconnect to the people and places that matter most to you!

SPRING 2020

New Programs! Kids Can Cook

Join us each month for some quality family cooking experience! Inspired by one of our most popular camp weeks, discover new recipes and practice new skills side by side your favorite aspiring chef. For adult and children ages 7-16 to learn together.

Desserts
Saturday, April 11; 1-3 pm
$15 ($8 for Members)

Join us as we prepare recipes for everyone’s favorite part of a meal! We will incorporate healthy ingredients (shh!) that will satisfy even the sweetest sweet tooth.

Mud season is here. Take a trek in the woods and search for signs of animals welcoming back the warmer weather. Our educators will help you identify animal tracks in the mud. Preserve your discoveries by making a plaster cast of an animal track.

New Programs! Trail Tours

Our trails vary not only in length and intensity, but also in the flora, fauna, and historic landmarks you will find on the way. Our educators will guide you along the trail and reveal some of these natural features. Program topics will vary depending on season and trail.

  • Yellow Trail
    Saturday, May 30; 10-12 pm
    $12 (FREE for Members)
    Enjoy a stroll on our flattest (but not flat) trail covering about one-third of a mile. Look forward to time in the Forest Garden, where a variety of flowers will welcome you with bright colors and pleasant scents.

New Series! DIY Science

Spending time in nature leads to a lot of questions. Answer some of those queries with us through hands-on experiments and outdoor exploration. For families with children excited about hands-on science.

Build your own miniature world! We will build self-sustaining terrariums while learning about ecosystem relationships. Then, watch as your world comes alive. Observe plants thriving, the water cycle, and imagine what life would be like in your forest ecosystem.

New Program! NH Astronomical Society: Sky Watch*

Tuesday, November 17; 6-8 pm
FREE!

Join the NH Astronomical Society in a “beginner-friendly,” enjoyable, and educational experience using a telescope to observe the night sky. Join us at 6:00 for a presentation that will precede the skywatch, and then head outside. Society members will set up their equipment and choose their celestial targets for you. All are welcome to this FREE program!
