For Families

Learning and growing in nature is fun for the whole family! From the Our Big Backyard series where adults and children ages 7-11 explore the wonders of nature during every month of the year to our seasonal Polliwogs program designed to introduce children ages 2 1/2 – 5 to nature through hands-on fun with a favorite grown-up, Prescott Farm offers a full array of hands-on experiential programs for all ages. Join us and reconnect to the people and places that matter most to you!

WINTER 2018/19

There is always something exciting to discover on our treks around Prescott Farm!  For ages 7-11, with an adult. Light activity.  See below for individual program descriptions.

Program Descriptions:

  • Let’s Go “Owling!”
    Friday, February 15; 6:00-7:30
Have you ever heard an owl call that sounds like “Who-cooks-for-you-who-cooks-for-you-all?” That’s a barred owl! This time of year they are starting their mating season and are quite vocal.  We’ll start inside with the story Owl Moon and then put on our listening ears as we explore areas we’re most likely to hear them!
  • Coming Up….
    April 27—Amazing Vernal Pools
    May 25—The Forest in Bloom
    June 22—Spring at the Pond

A fun group for the littlest explorers among us! Join us and bring along your favorite grown-up to explore the forests, fields and gardens around Prescott Farm. Spring is a busy time as animals come out from winter, and these sessions are designed to keep children busy and engaged.  You may choose to register for individual dates or the entire series!

* Members can upgrade now to take advantage of our new pricing, including FREE programming – pay only for guest lecturer or materials fees in other workshops. Members who choose not to upgrade will continue to pay for programming under their current membership plan (see registration forms for pricing).
