Learning and growing in nature is fun for the whole family! From the Explore Together Series where adults and children discover the wonders of nature during every month of the year to our seasonal Polliwogs program designed to introduce children ages 2 1/2 – 5 to nature through hands-on fun with a favorite grown-up, Prescott Farm offers a full array of hands-on experiential programs for all ages. Join us and reconnect to the people and places that matter most to you!


New Programs! Homeschool: Winter Series

Prescott Farm is offering a 4-week winter home school session! Discover which animals are active throughout New Hampshire winters. For learners aged 6-12 accompanied by an adult. Programs will be outside, so please dress appropriately in winter gear. Snowshoes will be provided as needed.

  • Big Mammals
    January, 29, 2020; 1:30 – 3 pm
    $52 ($20 for Members)
    On top of the snow, a variety of mammals wander the forest looking for food and shelter. We will search the trails of Prescott Farm for evidence of these animals.

  • Birds

  • The Subnivean Zone
    Wednesday, February 12, 2020; 1:30 – 3 pm

    Underneath the top layer of snow, a group of small mammals spend winter in a network of small tunnels. Explore which animals live in the Subnivean zone, their homes, and the threats they face.

Join us each month for some quality family cooking experience! Inspired by one of our most popular camp weeks, discover new recipes and practice new skills side by side your favorite aspiring chef. For adult and children ages 7-16 to learn together.
  • Pasta Noodles
    Saturday, February 1, 2020; 10-12 pm
    $15 ($8 for Members)Transform your pasta experience from pouring noodles out of a box to the hands on process of creating dough and forming sheets to roll through a pasta maker. We will boil noodles, sample a few sauces, and enjoy fresh pasta together.Recommended Ages: Child + Adult

What to Wear: Winter at Prescott Farm

Snowshoe yoga, building winter shelters, or learning to snowshoe are only a few of the many options for getting outside with Prescott Farm this winter. Don’t let cold feet, hands, or noses stop you from gaining a new skill and experiencing the fun. This program will be your guide to layering and staying warm and dry in winter weather.

New Series! DIY Science

Spending time in nature leads to a lot of questions. Answer some of those queries with us through hands-on experiments and outdoor exploration. For families with children excited about hands-on science.

    • Snow Science
      Saturday, February 8; 10- 12 pm

      The white stuff that falls from the sky and gives us hills to sled down is more than a pretty coating on the landscape. Learn awesome properties of snow by identifying common shapes of snow crystals, dissecting a snowpack, and more. Use your new skills during our next blizzard to wow your friends with cool snow facts! Note: In the event of a thaw, we will still have plenty of options to explore the science of snow.

Our trails vary not only in length and intensity, but also in the flora, fauna, and historic landmarks you will find on the way. Our educators will guide you along the trail and reveal some of these natural features. Program topics will vary depending on season and trail.

New Program! NH Astronomical Society: Sky Watch*

Tuesday, February 25; 7-9 pm

Join the NH Astronomical Society in a “beginner-friendly,” enjoyable, and educational experience using a telescope to observe the night sky. Join us at 6:00 for a presentation that will precede the skywatch, and then head outside. Society members will set up their equipment and choose their celestial targets for you. All are welcome to this FREE program!
