Honeybees are most noticeable in the summer, but they are busy all year long. This talk will take a look at the year of a honeybee, and what non-beekeepers can do to support them. We will also discuss other bee species and how they are similar and differ from honey bees.

Workshops on the Farm: Invasive Plants

The Lakes Region has become home to a variety of non-native plants that often compete with native species and wreak havoc on the land. Join the Belknap County Forester, to learn how and why some plants are problematic and recommended practices for dealing with them. This program will involve some walking on uneven ground as we visit some of the sites where invasive plants are growing at Prescott Farm and get some hands-on practice in identification and effective eradication techniques. Appropriate footwear is required.
