Upcoming Programs Fall 2025
Program Dates:
December 5: Winter is Coming: How Animals Get Ready ($15)
Ever wonder what animals do when the weather turns cold? In this interactive nature program, kids will explore the amazing ways wildlife prepares for winter—from bears building up fat for hibernation to squirrels stashing snacks and birds flying south. We’ll learn about hibernation, migration, and adaptation. We’ll investigate animal tracks, build mini shelters, and maybe even try “foraging” like a squirrel!
December 12: Winter Wreaths: A Holiday Crafting Workshop ($20)
Celebrate the season with a swirl of greenery, ribbons, and creativity! In this festive hands-on workshop, participants will create their very own holiday wreath using fresh evergreen branches and fun, kid-friendly decorations like pinecones, berries, bows, and more. We will learn about the different types of winter greenery while using our creative and fine motor skills.
December 19: Winter Wildlife Detectives ($15)
Discover who’s been walking through the winter woods! In this hands-on December program, kids will become nature detectives as they learn how to spot, identify, and follow animal tracks in the snow (or mud, if the snow hasn’t arrived!). Through outdoor exploration, games, and storytelling, children will uncover the secret lives of animals in winter—learning which creatures stay active, what their footprints look like, and how they survive the cold.

Weather
Children dressed for the weather are happy children. This includes jackets, hats, rain gear, and appropriate close-toed footwear. If the weather is severe, we will try to reschedule the program where openings are available.
First Aid and Safety
Parents are responsible for any first aid needs during their program. Three AEDs are located on the property: in the Pardoe Education Center near the main parking lot, the Innovation Center, and the Connector.
