The NH Chapter of the American Heart Association partnered with Anthem to donate 45 Hands-Only CPR kits to the Gilmanton School, a K-8 in Gilmanton NH. Andie Hession, the Prescott Farm Naturalist in the Classroom working with Gilmanton School, facilitated the contact as an offshoot of the Survival Skills program she was teaching in the 7th grade, including basic Wilderness first aid.

In accordance with Federal Wellness Guidelines, the Gilmanton School is devising a curriculum of health and wellness offerings to students in K-8 for the 2018-2019 school year, including offering First Aid/Safety and Hands-Only CPR to our middle school population. The school is investing money to send staff to the Red Cross Instructors Training.

“This donation of the CPR kits is vital to the success of our program by saving our district a significant amount of money in materials needed,” says Rachael Vigeant, RN, Gilmanton School Nurse. “We will also be offering the Red Cross Babysitter Training community wide, hopefully later this year.”
